Nest box for common hoopoe

The nest box is specifically designed for the common hoopoe (Upupa epops), a key species in biological pest control. This native insectivorous bird feeds on processionary caterpillars at all stages, including adult caterpillars and buried pupae, thanks to its characteristic long beak.
By installing this nest box, the natural presence of the hoopoe in the environment is encouraged, helping to reduce the processionary caterpillar population without the need for chemical products. It is an ecological and effective solution to protect trees and gardens, promoting a natural balance in the ecosystem.
